The primary use cases for automotive headlights include nighttime road driving, tunnel travel, rainy/foggy weather, and low-light environments such as underground parking lots.

 

With the development of automotive intelligence, headlight technology is extending from simple illumination to active safety. For example, Adaptive Front-lighting Systems (AFS) can automatically adjust the beam height and illumination range by monitoring vehicle speed, steering angle, and ambient light through sensors. Laser headlights, on the other hand, use blue lasers to excite phosphors to emit light, achieving an illumination distance twice that of traditional LEDs, but are more expensive and currently mostly used in high-end models. In the future, headlights may be integrated with onboard cameras, radar, and other sensors to become part of autonomous driving assistance systems, for example, by projecting light spots to warn pedestrians or mark road boundaries.
