Chassis lights are decorative lights installed on the chassis of a vehicle, available in various colors. Their primary functions are to enhance the vehicle's appearance and improve driving safety. In low-visibility conditions such as nighttime, fog, and rain, they clearly indicate the vehicle's position, providing a clear location reference for pedestrians and other road users. Chinese traffic regulations strictly prohibit the use of chassis lights while the vehicle is in motion (this may be considered illegal modification); their use is only permitted when the vehicle is stationary. Local laws and regulations must be confirmed before any modification. Main types include neon lights, LED lights, xenon lights, and coil lights. Installation methods include adhesive (double-sided tape) and screw connection (drilling required). Attention must be paid to the polarity of the circuit and waterproofing. Initially, neon lights were used as the light source, but now the mainstream product is LED lights due to their high brightness, low energy consumption, and long lifespan.
Early chassis lights almost exclusively used neon lights. Around 2002, these products were relatively expensive and had issues such as easily damaged transformers. With technological advancements, high-brightness LED components are increasingly being applied in this field, offering greater energy savings, easier installation, and better resistance to minor impacts and water resistance compared to neon lights. China's automotive modification market has experienced rapid growth in recent years. With the implementation of the "Guidelines for Technical Specifications of Automotive Modification," 16 modification projects, including lighting, will gain legal status starting in 2025. The industry exhibits a low-to-medium concentration competitive landscape, and the market maintains a sustained growth trend.
