Core Design Features

The main feature of this D2R D4R LED headlight conversion is the physical black shading shield placed next to the LED chip. In standard reflector housings, generic LED bulbs produce unfocused light in multiple directions, which causes glare for oncoming drivers. This shield mimics the masked area found on original HID xenon capsules, blocking upward light rays and producing a more controlled beam pattern.

The unit is built to align with the reflective surfaces of factory headlights. It fits directly into the original socket and creates a defined horizontal cutoff on the road. This directs the 6800LM output toward the driving path while limiting light scatter into areas that could affect other road users.

This kit suits older sedans and compact crossovers with reflector headlights that still use original xenon systems. It improves forward visibility in city traffic and offers better contrast on wet or misty nights. The beam shape stays relatively low and concentrated, which helps reduce glare for pedestrians and oncoming vehicles.

The bulb uses a locking base that matches both D2R and D4R housing notches. This allows distributors to stock a single SKU instead of two separate versions, which simplifies inventory management and helps keep return rates down.

Many aftermarket LED kits increase brightness but do not control beam direction, often resulting in scattered light that can lead to failed inspections or complaints. This assembly includes a physical mask to trap errant light and produce a clearer dark-to-light boundary.

Installation does not require cutting factory ballast lines or running extra relay wiring. The streamlined neck connects directly to the original ballast plug, and the driver components fit inside the headlight housing. This keeps the setup straightforward and reduces the need for additional modifications.
